Your scalp is naturally a little oily. This is because the sebaceous glands continuously release sebum that spreads over your scalp. You can see it as a layer of natural oils that prevents a dry scalp. You need this sebum layer for a healthy scalp and healthy hair. Overproduction of the sebaceous glands causes an oily scalp and therefore oily hair. We understand that you want to prevent this, so below we give you 8 tips to prevent or combat oily hair.
Tip 1: Don't wash your hair too often
Don't wash your hair more than 2 or 3 times a week. The more often you wash your hair, the more your scalp gets used to it and the faster your scalp will produce sebum again. Which makes it greasy faster.
Tip 2: Go for a double cleanse
Wash your hair twice with the So Pure Clarify Shampoo . This shampoo deeply cleanses the hair, without damaging the hair. By using the Clarify Shampoo you can be sure that no product residues from your styling products remain in the hair.
Tip 3 : Choose the right shampoo
Go for the soothing Derma Regulate Shampoo that rebalances your scalp's sebum production. It's all in the Derma Control Complex. This is a combination of bio-sulphur and betaine that restores your scalp's natural function.
Tip 4 : Shower at a lower temperature.
Heat activates our sebum production, which is why you often get greasy hair faster in the summer than in the winter. By showering at a lower temperature you can prevent stimulation of sebum production.
Tip 5: Rinse shampoos and conditioners thoroughly
Always make sure you rinse your shampoos and conditioners thoroughly. Any residue left behind can make your hair look greasy. Important: only use conditioner on your lengths and ends, never use it on your roots.
Tip 6: Leave your hair alone
We sometimes tend to run our hands through our hair during the day, our hands are often greasier and with that we make our hair greasier.
Tip 7: Use dry shampoo
If you have oily hair, it is good not to wash your hair too often. You can postpone your washings by using a Dry Shampoo . It refreshes your hair roots and absorbs sebum.
Tip 8: Change your pillowcase regularly
Your pillowcase gets greasy without you noticing it when we sleep. You come into contact with it every night, so it is important to change it regularly.
